Success Stories

For many of our clients, success is a long process, that is marked by gradual changes of heart and behavior. Our end goal is to return men and women to society as productive, self-sufficient individuals who ground their lives on the principles of the Bible.

Norma

Before I came to Wayne Hall, I was in a backslidden state. During this time, I got involved in an illicit relationship and got pregnant. I lost my job and my apartment. That's when I became homeless & had to move into a shelter. I was homeless for a while, going from shelter to shelter. I had no plan and no money. Then I came to Wayne Hall.

When I came to Wayne Hall, I was still in a backslidden state. Although I grew up in a strong Christian home, I had walked away from God. I lost faith, didn't trust God or have a desire for God. But because of the program at Wayne Hall, my faith was rekindled. I started reading my Bible and praying more. Being at Wayne Hall gave me the courage to want to be a better person and achieve my goals, step by step. Through prayer, my kid's father is now supportive. I got in a job training program, got certified in nursing and joined a church. The program at Wayne Hall forced me to be disciplined in so many areas and they made me save my money. Now, I know how to set a schedule for me and family and stick to it. I know how to clean, handle my business and be responsible. At Wayne Hall, we learned how to evangelize (me and my children). Now, I'm not afraid to walk up to anyone and share my faith. My kids love to evangelize too. I met a lot of wonderful people at Wayne Hall. I have more friends, now, than I've ever had. They are all Christians and they are my family.

Because of some bad decisions in my past, I got in trouble with the law while I was at Wayne Hall. One of the things I will always remember is, even though the staff fussed at me, they had my back no matter what. They taught me how to be spiritually strong in the hardest times. Another thing I will remember is that Wayne Hall took me to my first semi-formal affair. We got roses, I ate salmon and was treated like such a special lady. Christmas at Wayne Hall is also something I will remember because it made my kids so happy. The best part about Wayne Hall is the Bible classes, all the time (Parenting, Finance, Discipleship - there are so many). The classes gave me faith and made we want to try harder. Now, my children want to pray & my son sleeps with his Bible.

Being a single mom, the most valuable lesson I learned is that I am the bride of Christ and Jesus is my husband. I have found Him to be supportive, protective, my friend, He keeps me in line and He loves me unconditionally. Coming to Wayne Hall, I felt like it was my last chance. I felt like God was telling me, "If I don't get it together now, it's over." Although it was hard, I'm glad I stayed and toughed it out. Before, I couldn't get a job, now I have two jobs, one in nursing (which I love) and I'm graduating with a newly renovated four bedroom house. God blesses you if you serve Him and hold on.

I want to thank Wayne Hall for all the help, support and for being hard on me because I needed it. I don't think I could have done it without them. One thing I can say about Wayne Hall is, "the Spirit is in this place" and it changed me.

Changing Lives

Jesus is a life changer! In II Corinthians 5:17 the Bible says, "Those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun!" (NLT)

God is offering you new life through his Son, Jesus Christ. If you desire to begin that new life today, you can ask Jesus into your heart. Just pray, "Father, I know that I am a sinner and I need to be saved. I believe you sent your Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my sins and that He rose from the grave. Jesus, forgive me of all my sins. Come into my heart and save me. I make you my Lord and Savior. Thank you for new life, from this day forward. In Jesus' name, Amen."
